For chocolatier Steven Lawrence of Portland’s Wildwood Chocolate, having fruit cake during the holidays was a family tradition when he was young. Those fond memories never left him. His 2024 Advent Calendar confection recalls the festive aromas, flavors, and textures of fruit cake — with none of the cake. Each bonbon in this limited five-piece set overflows with succulent dried fruits, warming spices, and crunchy nuts, and is enrobed in our subtly fruity 70% Semuliki Forest, Uganda chocolate.
